From the 26/08/2024 to the 30/08/2024, I spent my STSM in Ljubljana, hosted by Petra Žvab Rožic at the Department of Geology of the University of Ljubljana.
The time spent together was perfect to progress with the activities related to WG4 and to Science Communication. Together we
- checked the website page by page and defined actions to improve it;
- planned the final months of activities of the group;
- contributed to organize the final online action conference;
- discussed about the activities that could be undertaken to keep WATSON alive after its end in September 2024.
I also shared some time with Polona Vreča at the Department of Environmental Sciences of the Jožef Stefan Institute. Together we made progress on planning how to reach the deliverable due by WG4 and shared some thought about future works together.
I also enjoyed a field trip at the slap Rinka (Rinka Falls) an amazing Logarska dolina (Logarska Valley) where to learn more about the geology, ecology, hydrology (and also the good food…) of Slovenia.
Finally, I could take an amazing tour of the TRIGA reactor at the Reactor Infrastructure Centre of the Jožef Stefan Institute, a modern facility devoted to training, research and isotope production.

Tasting the Izvir kisle vode, a water rich in iron and carbonate. I wonder what is its isotopic signature.
