Second workshop on “Isotope-based studies of water partitioning and plant-soil interactions”

Second workshop on “Isotope-based studies of water partitioning and plant-soil interactions”

After the first successful edition in Montepaldi and after two years of postponement due to the pandemic, finally the Second “plant isotope” Workshop took place in Pratolino, near Florence in Italy from the 26 to the 28 July, 2022. The aim of this EGU Galileo Conference was to gather scientists from different backgrounds –from hydrologists to plant physiologists, from ecologists to modelers and to discuss the latest advancements and future prospective of using stable isotopes in the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum. Also this edition was a success, with 40 participants from 12 countries attending the workshop. The program included two invited talks, 14 oral presentations, 14 spark presentations, and three discussion sessions. The discussions were vibrant, and the small, but numerous groups allowed everyone to interact with peers and get to know their work and accomplishments in a cozy and relaxing environment. There was also a presentation on the WATSON COST Action by the vice-chair Ilja van Meerveld. For more information, we invite you to visit the Workshop website and look forward to seeing you at the next edition!
