I’m Concetta, PhD student at the University of Trento in Agrifood and Environmental Sciences – C3A. Thanks to COST Action WATSON I did a Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) at Écol Polytechinque Fédérale de Lausanne, EPFL, Lausanne (laboratory of ecohydrology ECHO) with Professor Andrea Rinaldo and Eng. Paolo Benettin. I had the opportunity to analyze the flux partitioning of precipitation and irrigation water into evaporation, transpiration, soil water and groundwater storage of the EPFL vegetated lysimeter (M.F. Nehemy et al., 2021), using the numerical eco-hydrological model GEOSPACE 1D, developed by various members of the Trento group of hydrology (GEOframe). WATSON has allowed me to have a beautiful learning experience, very important for my PhD course and to start an exciting collaboration with the ECHO of EPFL.
